SC deputy shot while trying to serve warrant; suspect hurt, in custody, officials say

A South Carolina deputy and a suspect were shot in Charleston County Saturday afternoon.
The shooting happened on Old Georgetown Road between Awendaw and McClellanville.
Authorities said the suspect barricaded himself inside a home and started shooting at deputies as they were trying to serve a warrant.
The deputy suffered injuries that were non-threatening. Officials told WCIV that he is expected to be “alright”.
Investigators said the shooter was taken into custody and then taken to a local hospital for his injuries. Authorities have not released the suspect’s identity. ....
