Alleged Othello Suspect Accused of Dismembering Two Victims Adams County Deputies, and the Washington State Crime lab continue to investigate a gruesome discovery made Thursday near Othello. The Sheriff s Department reported 28-year-old Mauricio Nava-Garibay has been arrested as a suspect in the death and dismemberment of two female victims. New information has been brought to light about the case. Around 6:30AM Thursday, Deputies responded to a complaint about an abandoned car, a 2014 Honda, sitting in the 2200 block of Charla Road, near the Edson tracks area by Othello. Upon arrival officials noticed what appeared to be blood on the hood. Further investigation of the vehicle, according to court documents, indicated discovery of human flesh, body parts in the trunk and a human head on the rear floorboards. KXLY January 28, 2021 9:29 PM Emily Oliver Updated: 29-year-old Mauricio Nava-Garibay was booked in the Adams County Jail for first degree murder late Thursday night. According to the Adams County Sheriff’s Office, a caller reported a suspicious car near Charla Road in the Edson Tracks area, saying it had what looked like blood on the hood. Deputies responded around 6:30 a.m. and confirmed there was a dead person inside. Washington State Crime Lab was called to the area, and that’s when investigators found what they believe is the body of at least one other person in the trunk. “At this time the victims have not been positively identified due to the extent of the bodies condition,” it reads in a release from the Adams Co. Sheriff’s Office. ....
