Children’s charity Charlie House is today calling on the north-east to support its February fundraising campaign as the month draws to an end.
The Aberdeen-based charity launched the campaign at the start of the month to highlight the hardship and isolation faced by families during lockdown and to shine a light on how Charlie House has provided vital support during these challenging times.
The charity is encouraging people to donate £10 if they can, to enable Charlie House to continue its work and to support local families. ....

A north-east mum has shared the impact of lockdown on her family and how a children’s charity has helped support them through the difficult time.
Joanne Jamieson’s son Rory, who has cerebral palsy, is one of the young people supported by Aberdeen-based charity Charlie House, which assists children and young people with complex disabilities and/or life-limiting conditions.
Rory was born at 38 weeks after 24 hours of not moving, and was delivered by emergency C-section where he had to be resuscitated. ....

A north-east children’s charity has been given a cash boost from a Christmas raffle.
The Rotary Clubs of Aberdeen and District named Charlie House as its official charity for its annual raffle, in partnership with Bon Accord Aberdeen.
Finishing up before Christmas, the members of 23 different rotary clubs in and around Aberdeen were gifted space in the shopping centre to sell tickets, with the proceeds going towards the children’s charity, which supports babies, children and young people with complex disabilities and/or life-limiting conditions and their families. ....

An Aberdeen-based children’s charity is working with families to find out the best ways to support them over the coming year.
Charlie House, which helps babies, children and young people with complex disabilities and life-limiting conditions was forced to change the way it delivered many of its vital services to families last year during the coronavirus pandemic.
And now that Scotland is in another lockdown, the charity is working hard to ensure that its families remain supported.
Charlie House saw a huge increase in the requests for support in 2020, and hopes to ensure that it can continue to provide assistance for those who need it. ....
