CHIPPEWA COUNTY A 13-year-old boy who went missing on Thursday has been found safe. 
According to a press release from the Kinross District Police, after initial investigation, officers determined that the child was possibly picked up by unknown suspects from another state. 
The investigation continued into Friday and the Kinross District Police were assisted by Detective Jimmy McLeod from the Sault Tribe Police Department, Special Agent Todd Wilton from Homeland Security Investigations and FBI Special Agent Jay Johnston, as well as federal partners from the HSI based at the Chattanooga, Tennessee office. ....

Police say missing Kinross boy was picked up by TN suspects he met online

Kinross District Police Chief Joe Micolo says the boy was reported missing Thursday. Initial investigation led officials to believe he was possibly picked up by unknown suspects from another state.
Kinross Police were assisted by the Sault Tribe Police Department, the FBI, and officers from Homeland Security Investigations in Michigan and Chattanooga, Tennessee. Through those partnerships police located the 13-year-old at a residence in Athens, TN. He was taken into protective custody and his family was notified.
Micolo says the connection between the boy and the suspects was established through social media apps. He’s reminding parents to talk to their children about the dangers of communicating with strangers on social media. ....
