Cankdeska Cikana Community College (CCCC) is a certificate and associate-degree granting institution serving the Spirit Lake Dakota reservation in Fort Totten, North Dakota. The college has 11 programs of study, four certificate programs, and strong articulation agreements with other institutions that lead to bachelor’s degrees. The well-being and the social and economic vitality of the community are the vision of CCCC’s work. Healthcare workers along with social workers are in great need in the reservation community.
The CCCC pre-nursing program provides students with a solid foundation in nursing as well as other health fields such as dental hygiene, pharmacology, or medical technology. Led by Dr. Lori Gourneau, the program provides regular class instruction, one-on-one classes, and personalized support as well as other student support services. Dr. Gourneau has monthly group and individualized meetings to improve student success.
