ADA – The Chickasaw Nation’s fight to stem the spread of COVID-19 now includes nine “cottages” where COVID-19-positive Chickasaw citizens, First Americans living in the Chickasaw Nation service area, and Chickasaw Nation employees and their in-home dependents may isolate.
“Our mission is to provide a safe, clean environment in a comfortable setting so individuals may isolate themselves from loved ones while recovering,” said Jason Perry, executive officer of Chickasaw Nation Health Outreach. ....

ADA, Oklahoma – In the early morning hours of Dec. 16, Rhonda Brown, a Chickasaw elder and laboratory phlebotomy supervisor with the Chickasaw Nation Department of Health fighting on the front lines of the battle against COVID-19, received the first official dose of the COVID-19 vaccination among Chickasaw employees.
“Everyone should take the opportunity to take the shot,” Brown said in a Chickasaw Nation press release. “The vaccine is going to help a lot of us be healthier and more optimistic.” ....

Chickasaw Nation supports vaccination distribution

ADA – The Chickasaw Nation is preparing to assist the state of Oklahoma with distribution of COVID-19 vaccinations when they become widely available to the public.
A new emergency multi-use facility in Ada will be pivotal for vaccine distribution in the area once vaccines are publicly available. The new facility will serve as a unified incident command center as well as a COVID-19 drive-thru testing and vaccination site for the community. Because it has such a big parking lot, the Chickasaw Nation will be able to manage 16 lanes of traffic to drive through and get vaccines, officials said. ....
