Gov. Gretchen Whitmer signed Senate Bill 49 on Thursday, allowing small distillers, wine makers and microbreweries to have an on-premise and off-premise tasting room permit.
The sixth annual Starkbierfest will be at the Cedar Springs Brewing Company with craft beer (or bier if you want to go total German), food, entertainment, and social distancing.
The festival features the release of several new brews for the season including a Kusterer Heller Weizenbock, and the Wilderness Trail Aged Marzen Lager, these are the ony time these brews will be offered to the public.
There are limited quantities of the aged and casked beers, but have no fear, eight other draft beers will be under the tent behind the Brewing Company on Main Street in Cedar Springs, right off the White Pine Trail.

KENT COUNTY, Mich. â Itâs been a year full of changes for bars and restaurants.
âWeâve continually evolved and had to change on the fly virtually, immediately,â said Dave Ringler, Cedar Springs Brewing Company owner.
Ringler says the decision-making process wonât stop anytime soon; the brewery most recently chose to stay open.
On Friday, Governor Whitmer asked people to forgo eating inside for two weeks as a way to help mitigate the stateâs rising spread of COVID-19, leaving restaurants and bars with the option of continuing to offer dine-in services or switch to outdoor eating and carry-out only.
