HOMOSASSA — Two women were arrested Wednesday after deputies discovered they were housing 84 animals in “neglectful conditions,” according to the Citrus County Sheriff’s Office.
Tabitha Kaye Iverson, 51, and Christine Anne Iverson, 42, were arrested at their home off Green Acres Street, deputies said. They face 61 counts of aggravated animal cruelty, 13 counts of animal cruelty and one count of child neglect, as a minor in their care was also living in “deplorable” conditions. ....

2 accused of aggravated animal cruelty, child neglect in Citrus County

Two people have been arrested and charged with animal cruelty and child neglect after 84 animals were seized from a home, officials said. A child was also found living in deplorable conditions, according to investigators.Shortly before 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Citrus County Sheriff s Office Animal Control Officers (ACO) responded to a residence off W. Green Acres Street in Homosassa in reference to a report of animal cruelty, officials said.After arriving on scene, ACOs quickly realized that they would need the full cooperation and teamwork of both CCSO deputies and Citrus County Animal Services for this investigation, according to the report.Inside the residence, officials said they discovered 21 dogs, 27 cats, six various species of birds, five rabbits, one turtle, and one chicken. Four of the dogs located were caged in the kitchen, laying in their own urine and feces inside a cage, the report said. Another nine dogs were discovered in ....
