Staff Writer memara@fortfrances.com The Fort Frances Senior Centre is finally opening their doors next Monday after they have been closed since last March due to COVID-19 mandated restrictions. The centre will officially welcome patrons back on Monday with an open house followed by a Christmas in July session. Cindy Noble, manager of the Senior Centre, said she is also looking forward to seeing some of the younger seniors participate in the events. Noble said they will try and have events that are geared towards those aged 55 years and over. “We have some people on the board that are gung ho,” Noble said. “They want to do this. It is exciting to see everybody again.”

9 June 2021 The Rainycrest Auxiliary would like to thank you for all of your generous donations to the Tuck Shop. It means a lot to the residents to be able to go shopping at our shop for gifts, toiletries, personal items and snacks, especially during the times when we have all been asked to stay at home due to Covid. We could use: unused toiletries (remember Rainycrest is a scent free zone) knick knacks or decorative items for residents to use as gifts or to decorate their own space. Jewelry and stuffies are always appreciated. We would also like you to remember to donate items for our male residents. Items can be left inside the front door with a label saying ATTN Gary in the Tuck Shop.
28 April 2021 The Rainycrest Tuck Shop, is in need of items! Top of the list is large stuffies, purses, and lap blankets. Crafters are welcome to make and donate! Also accepted are books, knick knacks, jewelry, CD’s, small stuffed animals, decorative items & movies. No kitchen items please – residents no longer cook. Residents love to go shopping and this means the world to them. Items can be left inside the front door. A label saying “Attention Gary in the Tuck Shop” is helpful. If possible, call and tell them you are coming and someone will pick up your goodies quickly from the front door. Thanks in advance for helping to brighten the lives of our senior residents in Rainycrest!
