Sindh Tractor Subsidy Scheme: NAB warns Sindh ACE against conducting parallel probe

KARACHI: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has taken a notice of the Sindh Anti-Corruption Establishment’s (ACE) probe into the misappropriation of Rs 800 million in the Sindh Tractor Subsidy Scheme, already under the investigation of NAB.
NAB sources told The News that the Sindh Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) has also initiated a probe into the Sindh Tractor Subsidy Scheme (Phase III) from 2013 to 2016, ignoring all rules, laws and NAB ordinance, only to sabotage the NAB’s investigation.
The case was initially taken up by the NAB Karachi but when the matter of the ‘fake accounts case’ was transferred to the NAB Rawalpindi on the directions of the apex court, the issue of the ‘Tractor Subsidy Scheme’ was also transferred to the NAB Pindi. According to the official documentary evidence, copies of which are exclusively available with The News, the NAB Rawalpindi has written to Chairman Sindh Enquiries and Anti-Corruption Establishmen ....

Irregularities, nepotism allegations in examination results under investigation
HYDERABAD:
The Sindh Anti-Corruption Establishment has started to probe allegations of irregularities and nepotism pertaining to examination results against the Hyderabad Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE).
ACE has sought complete details of all exams of the secondary school certificate and higher secondary certificate conducted in the past five years.
ACE Deputy Director Ghazanfar Ali Qadri has deputed an assistant director to conduct the investigation into allegations of bribes taken in exchange for handing out a better examination score. In a letter written to BISE, ACE has demanded answer sheets, detailed results of past years, lists of awards and the chairperson s approval for examination results. ....

Pay and pensions: Sindh E&ACE forms JIT to probe 'corruption'

KARACHI: The Enquiries and Anti-Corruption Establishment (E&ACE), Sindh, constituted a Joint Investigation Team (JIT) to probe in to the matter of alleged corruption of billions of rupees in pay and pension heads through suspicious bank transactions in different district accounts of province.
Following the formal request of investigation of Sindh Finance Department regarding the suspicious payments of salaries and pensions made through 139 bank accounts to 59 individuals, E&ACE Chairman Muhammad Iqbal Memon constituted the JIT headed by E&ACE Director Muhammad Ali Baloch.
According to the official correspondence copies of which are available with The News, the Finance Department Secretary asked the chairman that during the course departmental inquiry it has been revealed that suspicious pay and pension payments have been made to the 59 individuals through their 139 bank accounts. He also provided details of the individuals and their account ....
