Boston to temporarily return to modified Phase Two, Step Two of Reopening plan


New measures are being taken to mitigate the spread of COVID-19 and protect hospital capacity.
In an effort to reduce the further spread of COVID-19 and its impact on Boston s health care system and essential services, Mayor Martin J. Walsh today announced that effective Wednesday, December 16, the City of Boston will return back to a modified Phase Two, Step Two of the Reopening Massachusetts plan. Mayors and city leaders from Massachusetts are joining Boston in announcing similar restrictions in their cities and towns, including Arlington, Brockton, Lynn, Newton, Somerville, and Winthrop. 
Unfortunately, we are at the point where we need to take stronger action to control COVID-19 in Boston, and urgently, to ensure our health care workers have the capacity to care for everyone in need, said Mayor Walsh. Parkersburg, Vienna still have small business COVID-19 funds | News, Sports, Jobs

PARKERSBURG Some federal funds allocated by the cities of Parkersburg and Vienna to help businesses impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic have been awarded, but balances remain for each program.
Parkersburg Development Director Rickie Yeager told members of Parkersburg City Council this week that the Mid-Ohio Valley Regional Council, which is administering the city’s Small Business Relief Fund, has processed 20 applications and funds are being awarded to 13 applicants, with another pending.
That amounts to $82,688.60 in financial assistance from additional Community Development Block Grant funds provided through the C.A.R.E.S. Act passed earlier this year by Congress. ....

Shawnee Forward: Small business Relief Fund grant applications due Dec. 23

Shawnee Forward Inc, in collaboration with Pottawatomie County Commissioners, the City of Shawnee and the City of Tecumseh, have announced a Small Business Relief Fund grant program of $155,000 to help meet the urgent needs of small businesses in the county impacted by the COVID-19 virus. The deadline to apply is Dec. 23. 
According to Shawnee Forward CEO Rachel Melot, Tecumseh, Shawnee and the county have allocated money from their CARES Acts funds to fund the grant program. 
Melot said Shawnee Forward will be administering the grants and business owners generating less than $2 million in gross revenue in 2019 and employee under 50 full time equivalent people may be eligible.  ....
