Ann Arbor, March 11, 2021 - Black and Hispanic people experience a higher risk for COVID-19 and severe illness, influenced by factors such as discrimination, housing, and healthcare access and utilization. Now, a new study in the
American Journal of Preventive Medicine, published by Elsevier, identifies specific job categories that put workers at risk because they require working in close contact with others. Some of these jobs have a disproportionately high number of Black or Hispanic workers. The findings should be used to inform workplace interventions to reduce the risk for these particularly vulnerable communities.
About three-quarters of US workers have jobs either indoors or outdoors that involve contact with other people that is sufficiently close to put them at higher risk for COVID-19, explained co-investigators Jean M. LAHORE, Pakistan: The Centre of Social Justice (CSJ) organized a Conference on the “Status of Minority Women and their Rights and Challenges” in Lahore on Tuesday in connection with International Women’s Day 2021.
The themes discussed in the Conference included socio-economic and legal rights of minority women, right to education, right to health, protection against forced conversions, and gender-based violence (GBV).
The Conference was attended by eminent scholars, economists, and legal experts, and they were of the view that millions of Pakistani women from religious minority communities contribute daily in the Country’s economy with some earning prestige in different sectors including health, education, and politics; however, yet their numbers are very low. ....

As part of the development of the study on hate speech in Morocco, the Council of Europe is organizing, in collaboration with the Mediterranean Youth Forum, three discussion workshops with target groups, namely young professionals from Moroccan media, Moroccan students and sub-Saharan students, respectively on Saturday 13, Wednesday 17 and Thursday 18 March 2021 in Rabat.
These discussion workshops will allow the experts to finalize the study in question by taking into account the recommendations that will emerge from these various discussion workshops. NewsReporters Without Borders (RSF) condemns this week’s rulings by Togo’s supreme court upholding the Togolese media regulator’s decisions to suspend a newspaper for four months and to close another for good. These sanctions are unjustified and disproportionate and discredit Togo’s mechanisms for regulating the media, RSF said.Ferdinand Ayité’s efforts to demonstrate his good faith were not enough.
