Initial proposals for new constituency boundaries have been published by the Boundary Commission for England (BCE) and are available for public feedback as part of an eight-week consultation process.
The “2023 Review” of Parliamentary constituencies proceeds on legislative rules most recently updated by Parliament in 2020.
The intention is to ensure the number of electors in each constituency is more equal.
For example, in the current system, some MPs have just 50,000 constituents, while others could have double that.
As a result, the number of constituencies in England will increase from 533 to 543 – but seats in the House of Commons will stay at 650. ....

Local elections 2021: Rise of the Independents in Wycombe as ex-mayors miss out


The first Bucks unitary council elections are over and the results are in.
Buckinghamshire residents went to the polls on Thursday for the first time since the new Buckinghamshire Council came into existence back in April 2020 – one year later than planned because of the Covid pandemic.
With Friday a mostly administrative day, results were revealed throughout today (Saturday) with some surprises in store.
As expected, the Conservatives won a majority, taking 113 seats, while the Lib Dems came in second with 15 seats, followed by the Independents (six seats), Labour (four seats), Independent Network (two seats) and the Green Party getting a seat. ....
