LAWTON, Okla. (TNN) - The Lawton Salvation Army Womenâs Auxiliary will be holding their annual spring fundraiser, with a little difference.
Every year they do the Spring Style Fashion Show Fundraiser, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this yearâs fundraiser will look a little different.
Theyâll be doing a no show fashion show called Bouquets of Hope.
âThey will even get a tax receipt as soon as they do that and the money raised goes back into the Salvation Army to support the boys and girls club or shelter or social services whatever we need,â said Major Joanna Robinson of the Lawton Salvation Army Womenâs Auxiliary. ....

FLORENCE, Ala. (WAFF) - After years of building partnerships for the Salvation Army of the Shoals, Captains Ben and Wendy Deuel roles as field commanders is coming to an end.
“We can only hope that every community we move to from now on is like the Shoals,” Ben said. “This area sets the bar for us. The rest of the nation could learn a lot from the Shoals, about caring and compassion.” ....

West Pittston chapter of Salvation Army to close after 109 years, merge with Wilkes-Barre

After 109 years, the Salvation Army is closing its West Pittston branch and merging with its Wilkes-Barre chapter.
The organizationâs building on Luzerne Avenue was demolished in March and the charity has been operating out of a temporary rented location in Pittston City.
âWe no longer have a building,â said Major Edgar George Jr., the Salvation Armyâs general secretary based in Philadelphia. âFrom a financial standpoint, it makes sense to consolidate.â
George promised the residents previously served by the Salvation Army could expect the same level of services since the combined headquarters in Wilkes-Barre is only several miles away. ....

WEST PITTSTON After a year of speculation, the West Pittston Salvation Army will dissolve after 109 years of service in The Garden Village, to be absorbed into the Wilkes-Barre Salvation Army Corps starting on July 1, 2021.
“The decision to change the way we provide service in West Pittston is not about a lack of leadership, nor effort,” said Lt. Col. Larry Ashcraft, Divisional Commander, The Salvation Army Pennsylvania and Delaware Division. “Our Corps officers have done a remarkable job doing the most they could with the resources available.
