Despite the challenges of the pandemic, The Salvation Army in central Ohio also experienced amazing support from central Ohioans who wanted to meet the increased needs of their neighbors. In March we quickly pivoted to respond to the need to help feed hungry families by creating safe drive-thru pantries. Our pantry services have increased by 225% and we have provided 1,145,856 meals.
With the help of the community, we set out to Rescue Christmas and were able to provide new toys for 8,179 children and Red Boxes full of food for 17,134 individuals. ....

2020 was â¦ 2020, but Common Grace Ministries did not let that stop us from serving our neighbors. When they couldnât come to us, we went to them. We have worked closely with the Health Department to ensure that we are keeping our staff and neighbors safe. We flexed with every Executive Order, CDC guideline and Health Department recommendation. We continue to work with the hospital and Health Department to connect people in quarantine with food and supplies. If 2020, could throw it at us â¦ it did!
However, you rallied around us so we could rally around our neighbors! Thank you so very much! ....

The Brainerd Lakes Salvation Army has partnered with Cub Foods and Hubbard Radio since 2008 to provide holiday food gift cards to those in need during the Christmas holiday to allow people to afford a nice holiday meal for their families, which can help make the holidays special.

Jackson Salvation Army 5% Away From Goal

There is still some time to donate to The Salvation Army’s red kettle campaign. As of January 12th, 2021, The Salvation Army is just 5% away from their goal of $310,000 for its 2020 campaign. In 135 years of service, The Salvation Army has been at the forefront of the fight against poverty in Jackson County.
Corps Officer Major Jose Tamayo said “We are grateful and humbled by the wonderful generosity of the greater Jackson community in the response to the need of their neighbors in support of the Red Kettle Campaign. This support is vital in allowing us to provide help and hope all year long.” ....
