In a campaign announcement on Twitter, Oliver stated their intention to run for Council Position 9 which will be vacated by current Council President Lorena Gonzalez who is running for mayor. Oliver ran for mayor in 2017 and narrowly missed snagging a place on the ballot for the Seattle Peoples Party, finishing third overall behind current mayor Jenny Durkan who will not be seeking reelection and urban planner Cary Moon. ....
