MCO: Latest SOPs for Selangor mosques, surau

SHAH ALAM: The Selangor Islamic Religion Standing Committee set a new standard operating procedure (SOPs) for mosques and surau in six districts in the state which have been placed under the Movement Control Order (MCO), namely Petaling, Hulu Langat, Gombak, Klang, Sepang and Kuala Langat.
The committee, in a statement today said for the Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah Mosque
(pix) and Tengku Ampuan Jemaah Mosque, the number of congregants set for Friday prayers is set at a maximum of 500 people, including officials and members of the mosque committee.
Obligatory prayers at the two mosques are allowed with a maximum of 200 people, including officials and members of the mosque committee, it said. ....

Selangor state mosque imam Abdul Karim tests positive for Covid-19

SHAH ALAM (Bernama): The imam of the Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah Mosque, Abdul Karim Omar, has tested positive for Covid-19.
He announced the news during an Instagram live session with celebrity and humanitarian activist, Nur Heliza Helmi and her sister Nur Hazwani Afiqah, on Monday (Jan 18).
Abdul Karim, who is also a renowned qari (male Quran reciter), said he was currently being treated at the Sungai Buloh Hospital while his other family members, who also tested positive for the illness, were treated at the Covid-19 Quarantine and Low-risk Treatment Centre (PKRC) at the Malaysia Agro Exposition Park Serdang (MAEPS). ....
