Alberta has the capacity to administer between 400,000 and 500,000 doses of COVID-19 vaccines if the supply is available, Premier Jason Kenney said Saturday, noting he believes most public health restrictions could be lifted in June.
Speaking during a weekend media availability, Kenney said he believes close to 70 per cent of Albertans will be protected by June from COVID-19 through a first or second dose of vaccine or through immunity from natural infection.

Mayor frustrated with how AHS reports local outbreaks; 416 cases in Fort McMurray

Mayor Don Scott says he is frustrated with how Alberta Health Services (AHS) has reported outbreaks since the pandemic began last March, sharing frustrations with the Mayor of Edson over how outbreaks are reported to communities.
Scott said in a Thursday interview that Suncor and Syncrude have been open about COVID-19 outbreaks with the municipality, but other operators have not been so open. He is frustrated AHS does not provide daily updates of active and recovered cases for school and workplace outbreaks.
