State Sen. Andy Zay (R-Huntington) has recently introduced two bills, Senate Bill 137 and 139.
Senate Bill 137, which would allow the Kids First Trust Fund board to create a new way to raise money, unanimously passed the Senate Committee on Family and Children Services.
Senate Bill 137 would allow the Kids First Trust Fund board to create a nonprofit subsidiary corporation to solicit and accept private funding, gifts and donations. This would create another revenue source to for child services offered by the partners of the trust fund and the Department of Child Services. The Kids First Trust Fund is currently funded with sales of the special Kids First license plate through the Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles. ....
