HOLLAND (WHTC-AM/FM) Whether it’s food, time, or energy, waste is generally a bad thing. For businesses, it can be costly; according to some estimates, on average about 30% of the energy used in commercial buildings is wasted.
So why aren’t more businesses making energy efficient and renewable energy improvements? Because they’re typically expensive. High upfront costs coupled with the uncertainty of whether the investment can be recouped in a reasonable timeframe mean most owners won’t chance it.
Enter the Property Assessed Clean Energy (PACE) Program, which offers a funding alternative to traditional bank loans so businesses can make these important energy-efficient improvements. ....

WEST OLIVE, Mich. â Waste can be costly for businesses, with some estimates indicating about 30% of energy used in commercial buildings is wasted on average, according to a news release Wednesday.
But making improvements to make buildings more energy efficient and renewable can be costly with high upfront costs.
The Property Assessed Clean Energy (PACE) program offers a funding alternative to traditional bank loans so businesses can afford to make energy-efficient improvements, and Ottawa County will soon offer it to area businesses. ....

Ottawa Co. awards contract for first phase of broadband expansion plan

WEST OLIVE Ottawa County is advancing through the initial steps of its goal to increase broadband access to every county resident, school and business.
On Tuesday, April 27, the county board of commissioners unanimously voted to award a $42,000 contract to Ann Arbor-based technology company Merit Network Inc. to analyze the internet needs of those living and working in Ottawa County.
A broadband analysis plan is the first step in Ottawa County s Digital Inclusion Strategy a four-step initiative to expand high-speed internet access. Merit Network will be tasked with reaching out to county residents to understand their internet needs and where there are shortcomings. ....
