Over 51L farmers to benefit as govt deposits Rs 2,000 under PM-KISAN
Under the PM-KISAN, an income support of Rs 6,000 per year is provided to all registered farmers across the country in three equal installments of Rs 2,000 each, every four months.

Around 51.34 lakh farmers from Gujarat are set to be benefitted as Rs 2,000 each is digitally deposited in the bank accounts of nine crore cultivators under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) on December 25, state agriculture department officials said. In all, around Rs 1,020 crore will be deposited in the accounts of these farmers, officials added. ....

State BJP president C R Paatil on Monday appealed all the party workers in the state to ensure that maximum people listen to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s address on farmers’ interest and importance of the new farm laws on December 25.
An official party release said the party is celebrating December 25, the birth anniversary of former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, as ‘Sushasan Divas’. This year, Modi will address the country on the importance of the new farm laws on December 25. On the same day, it added, the PM will digitally deposit a total of Rs 18,000 crore in the bank accounts of nine crore farmers under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme. ....

Rupani discusses vaccination drive with village sarpanches

Chief Minister Vijay Rupani held an online meeting with all village sarpanches in the state on Friday, seeking their cooperation in the administration of Covid-19 vaccine to different targeted groups in a phased manner. He added that 50,000 booths will be set up in the state for the purpose.
Connecting with the village sarpanches through satellite communication, Rupani said, “We have reached the end of the fight against corona and that it will be over following vaccination for all…”
The CM said that the village administration has played a crucial role in checking the spread of the virus and that now they will be required for the vaccination programme, planning of which is going on. ....
