Cheryl Ann Slowik, 74, otherwise known as “Mi Mi,” made her final journey home to be with Jesus Sunday, Feb. 21, 2021. Cheryl was born June 14, 1946, in Fall River, Massachusetts, to Mary and Francis Duckett. She spent the early part of her life in Fall River and eventually resided along the coast at Westport, Massachusetts, where she met and fell in love with her adoring husband of 28 years, Thomas Slowik.
Cheryl retired from Massachusetts Rehabilitation Center after 30 rewarding years of service. She loved to make people laugh and to bring special people in her life joy through the most thoughtful of gifts. There was never any animal or baby that Cheryl did not adore. Her world especially revolved around her two grandchildren, Peyton and Bryson Furtado. From the times of their births, Mi Mi repeatedly reminded them they were loved, “to the moon and back, a bushel and a peck, and a hug around the neck!” ....
