GATINEAU, QC, Jan. 18, 2021 /CNW/ - The Government of Canada is committed to appointing highly qualified candidates to best serve the interests of Canadians.
Today, the Minister of Labour, Filomena Tassi, announced the appointments of Candace DiCresce, Kurt Dieckmann, Cheryl Paynter, and Daniel G. Strand as Governors representing employers and provincial and territorial governments at the Canadian Centre for Occupational Health and Safety (CCOHS) for terms of four years.
The CCOHS does important work to support industries, employers and workers in improving health and safety programs. In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the CCOHS has developed a series of tools and resources, such as pandemic guidance tip sheets, and made them available for free on their website to support industries, employers and workers during the pandemic. ....

The two new cases of COVID-19 on P.E.I. announced today involved travel outside of Atlantic Canada.(Julien Lecacheur/Radio-Canada)
P.E.I. announced two new cases of COVID-19 in the province Tuesday, both related to travel outside of Atlantic Canada.
These are the first new cases announced on P.E.I. since Christmas Eve, and there are no related public exposure sites.
P.E.I. s Chief Public Health Office says the province expects to get its first shipment of the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine, 1,200 doses, this week.   ....

It has been three days since the province has announced any new cases of COVID-19.
Three new cases were reported on Christmas Eve for P.E.I. They were all related to travel outside the Atlantic region, and involving people who were already self-isolating.
Passengers on three Air Canada flights are being advised to monitor for symptoms and report for a test if any appear. ....

The province hasn t reported any new cases of COVID-19 over the last three days, and the Charlottetown polar bear dip for New Year s Eve has been cancelled.
