Chelmsford Town Meeting may face delay to allow for reps' vaccinations

If coronavirus trends allow, Kurland said Town Meeting could take place at the Chelmsford High School gymnasium, where Town Meeting was held last year.
I believe the students will no longer be attending school regularly, so if we have a second or third session, it will not be a major problem for the staff or schools, Kurland said.
Timing concerns
Spring Town Meeting normally begins the last Monday in April.
Kurland said he will consider moving Town Meeting to an earlier date, after Select Board member Virginia Crocker Timmins raised concerns about timing.
I understand why we delayed until the end of June last year, Timmins said. I m just wondering if it would be worth looking at an interim date, potentially May, and if that doesn t pan out, then go to the end of June. ....

Chelmsford board backs plan for age-friendly efforts in town

CHELMSFORD A plan to make the town more accessible for older residents has garnered approval, after the Select Board reviewed progress by an age-friendly action team.
The board voted unanimously on Feb. 8 to approve the plan, following a presentation by Fred Brusseau, and Debra Siriani, cochairmen of the Age-Friendly Core Team.
Siriani serves as human services director of the Chelmsford Senior Center.
A changing population
The population of Chelmsford, like many towns in the area, is aging, Brusseau said.
The plan s goal is to make town services as accessible as possible to residents of all ages. You only have to look across town departments, to see services offered for residents.of all ages. But we can do better, Brusseau said. ....
