Registered nurse Chelsea Kimbrell was among a group of three to be the first to receive the vaccine. She joined thousands of medical personnel statewide who were vaccinated.
Kimbrell, who is employed in the OB department, said receiving the vaccine was a no-brainer as it enabled her to safely do her job and protect her family and friends.
It was actually kind of exciting, Kimbrell said. It s this historic thing worldwide and for our community, so the fact that we were able to receive it in our little hospital is huge for us.
Kimbrell said she did her homework before deciding to receive the vaccine, speaking with her husband, investigating the much talked about long-term side effects (though the only side effect she reported was a sore arm, which usually accompanies a vaccination) and weighing the pros and cons. ....
