Bengaluru: Shahulla Khan ensured dignified last rites for people in Bengaluru when the first Covid wave struck last year. The 45-year-old funeral service worker helped people out in the time of crisis. But early Thursday, after waiting for an oxygen bed for days, he couldn’t find the help that he so needed, and succumbed to Covid-19 himself.
The sky always should be blue for Motherâs Day, but in Western Pennsylvania, Mother Nature often has other ideas.
And so an art project at South Fayette Township Library commemorating this yearâs special day didnât go exactly as planned.
âMaybe when itâs a sunny day, it really will look colorful all around and the display will look really nice,â art teacher Selva Priya said. âBut the weather is not cooperating now.â
Nevertheless, she and her students persisted through alternating sunshine and showers to complete a special installation in time for momâs special day.
In the patio area outside the library, the youngsters painted larger rocks with bright messages to their mothers. And in the center of the patio, a mural with 350 decorated stones helped mark the annual celebration.
