Registration for the 2022 Houston Marathon Weekend of Events opens to all runners today, June 2.
The in-person race for the 50th Anniversary Celebration of the Chevron Houston Marathon and the 21st annual Aramco Houston Half Marathon will take place Sunday, Jan. 16, 2022. The We Are Houston 5K will take place on Saturday, Jan. 15, 2022.
“Chevron is thrilled to be celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Houston Marathon alongside runners, volunteers, city officials and our own employees,” said Margaret Cooper, General Manager, Chevron Corporate Affairs, in a statement. “We look forward to seeing participants in January to commemorate this important milestone and the Chevron Houston Marathon’s incredible impact on our community.” ....

ABC13's Tom Koch will anchor his final KTRK Eyewitness News newscast in May

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) After almost 40 years at ABC13, Eyewitness News Anchor Tom Koch has announced he will anchor his last newscast at the end of May. As co-anchor of Houston s #1 morning newscast, Houstonians have started their day with Tom for 33 years. Tom also co-anchored ABC13 s top-rated 4 p.m. news for eight years.
For nearly 40 years, I ve been honored and humbled that so many people welcomed me into their homes every day, said Tom. Chevron Houston Marathon gets underway virtually

By now, you would normally see a lot of signs around Houston for the Chevron Houston Marathon, which always takes place in the middle of January. Normally, you would have between 25 and 30-thousand runners going through the streets of Houston running the full 26.2 miles, or the half marathon of 13.1 miles.
Of course, Covid-19 changed things. Runners adjusted, and so did the event itself.
Despite their best efforts, the race was simply too tough to pull off live. So it will be virtual this year, and the virtual marathon is now underway.
Between now and January 17th, runners who sign up can run the We Are Houston 5K, Aramco Half Marathon, or the full 26.2 mile Chevron. Muffy King is the Marketing and Media Brand Director, and says runners have their choice. They can run one of these races before the 17th, two of them, or, if they are really adventurous, they can go even further. ....
