Two puppies rescued from a shelter in Georgia will undergo lifesaving heart surgery in Boston.
Coco and Reesie, both 12 weeks old, were surrendered to a rural Georgia animal shelter just after birth and brought to Northeast Animal Shelter via a program called Saving Homeless Pets Across America. Sign up for our Newsletters
Reesie has recovered from canine parvovirus, but both puppies have Patent Ductus Arteriosus, a condition marked by an abnormal blood vessel outside of the heart that does not close properly after birth. Left untreated, the condition leads to congestive heart failure. ....
