(KFVS) - Freezing temperatures and icy conditions can be problematic for delivery drivers across the Heartland. Volunteers for the Cape Senior Center are out and about delivering meals to clients throughout the city, but with icy conditions and slick roads, delivery drivers can have a tough time making it up hazardous conditions. “Cold weather or no cold weather, us volunteers are going to make sure the meals get out there,” said Senior Center volunteer Jim Day. ....

Of the 86,429 tenements surveyed, 10,983 were found to be occupied by unauthorised occupants. The survey to identify unauthorised occupants has been ongoing over 5 years. A PIL was also filed in HC in 2019 as the issue pertains to “eligible” slum dwellers who have been given flats in the redeveloped SRA buildings, free of cost. According to SRA rules, they cannot transfer (sell) or create third-party rights for at least 10 years. ....

Tuesday was to have been the first day of in-person classes for most students in pre-kindergarten through second grade, and special education students in self-contained classrooms through sixth grade, since the pandemic shutdown in March. “Rest assured, ASD is ready to bring its first phase of students back into buildings and is excited to see everyone tomorrow,” the district said in a Facebook post. ....
