Fermanagh policeman to be remembered on 30th anniversary of his murder
Today (Monday) Lisnaskea-based South East Fermanagh Foundation working in partnership with RUC GC Association (Fermanagh Branch) will mark the 30th anniversary of the murder Fermanagh native R/Const. Douglas Carrothers.
Douglas known as Dougie was murdered on May 17, 1991 when aged 41 years, outside his home in Lisbellaw where he, wife Phyllis and three children had recently moved.
SEFF s Director of Services Kenny Donaldson stated: Dougie was very well respected and his murder brought a sense of revulsion from across the community. Today from 11am onwards we will be showing a short tribute film on our SEFF Victim and Survivors Facebook page which has been developed with the support of Rev Alan Irwin and RUC GC Association (Fermanagh Branch). ....

Commissioner meets with Fermanagh veterans

South East Fermanagh Foundation (SEFF) welcomed Veterans Commissioner Danny Kinahan to their Lisnaskea offices recently where The Commissioner met with a range of veterans to engage in dialogue around their needs and to hear their views around a range of issues.
In a statement SEFF s Director of Services Kenny Donaldson said: The Veterans Commissioner met with circa 12 veterans and heard from them issues for which they require support. Amongst the issues discussed were; his presence at the Lambeth Talks, mental health provision, Community allotments, the role of Veterans champions within local Councils, legacy issues. We also heard from the Commissioner in respect of the remit of his role as well as his understanding of the way forward for his office. ....
