MPNnow CANANDAIGUA Officials from New York, Canandaigua and the Board of Directors at Sonnenberg Gardens & Mansion State Historic Park broke ground Friday for a new entrance and visitor center to the historic venue. Estimated to be completed sometime in 2021, according to Sonnenberg Executive Director David Hutchings, the $6.1 million project will provide a new entrance for visitors, room for on-site archives, permanent offices for Sonnenberg staff, new maintenance facilities and enough parking for 140 cars. Hutchings added that with this project and the $7.2 million in restoration done over his 15 years as executive director, we re returning the estate to its original position on the Finger Lakes, adding that it was a jewel of the region. ....

We had over 13k visitors this past season in the midst of the Covid-19 Pandemic. Our community nonprofit was able to continue to operate because of the numerous contributions of the time and energy of our local citizens. ....
