CAROLINA BEACH, N.C. (WECT) - The actions of New Hanover County Board of Commissioners Chair Julia Olson-Boseman are being questioned by the Town of Carolina Beach after she allegedly directed the county manager to instruct county staff to conduct an investigation into the recent condominium fire in Carolina Beach.
But Carolina Beach officials say county staff were acting outside of their jurisdiction to do so, however, the county disagrees.
There are also ethical questions regarding the actions since, according to the emails, Olson-Boseman, who is an attorney, said she was legally representing some of the fire victims. ....

CAROLINA BEACH, N.C. (WECT) - A recently released 911 call reveals the chaotic moments after a massive fire broke out at a condominium complex in Carolina Beach last Friday.
The fire was first reported at the Paradise Cove Condominiums off Spencer Farlow Drive and near Snow’s Cut Bridge just before 1 p.m. Heavy flames and smoke were billowing from one of the 12-unit buildings as firefighters arrived at the scene. ....

CAROLINA BEACH, N.C. (WECT) - Local, state, and federal officials continue to investigate what caused a massive fire a Carolina Beach condominium complex on Friday.
The fire was first reported at the Paradise Cove Condominiums off Spencer Farlow Drive and near Snows Cut Bridge just before 1 p.m. Heavy flames and smoke were billowing from one of the 12-unit buildings as firefighters arrived at the scene. ....

Fire in Carolina Beach destroys Paradise Cove condos


A fire broke out in a condominium complex at Carolina Beach midday Friday.
Fire crews arrived to the scene at Paradise Cove Condominiums near the Snow s Cut Bridge at around 1 p.m. to find all three floors of one building in the community engulfed in flames, said Chief Alan Griffin with Carolina Beach Fire Department. 
Four people were taken to New Hanover Regional Medical Center for treatment, including three people who jumped from windows. Although some of the injuries are serious, none are life threatening, Griffin said.
The center section of the horseshoe-shaped building, which includes two stairwells, was the most damaged. But residents from all 12 units in the building were displaced. The American Red Cross is currently assisting those residents. Griffin added that some adjacent units were also impacted, but remain habitable.  ....
