ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. There will be new electric vehicle charging stations by this summer in Nob Hill, at Explora museum and at several public facilities around Albuquerque.
The city of Albuquerque announced it had contracted Paradise Power Company Inc. to install 18 new EV charging stations, increasing the citywide total to 34.
The city is spending about $489,000 on the project, including a grant made from New Mexico’s Volkswagen Settlement allocation.
New locations also include the North Domingo Baca and Manzano Mesa Multigenerational Centers, Los Altos Golf Course, the Central and Unser Library and the Albuquerque Balloon Museum. The city considered a number of factors when selecting locations for the new stations including “equity of access throughout the city and proximity to major roadways, shopping and other attractions,” according to a news release.
