Chocolate Extravaganza Starts Today In Hannibal th Annual Chocolate Extravaganza gets underway today, Thursday, March 11 in Historic Downtown Hannibal. A chocolate passport is your ticket to decadent festival. You can exchange those tickets for treats at downtown merchants. You can choose from about 20 items. Most are chocolate-themed. For instance, you can score a chocolate caramel martini, wine with chocolate-covered strawberries, and even a sterling silver chocolate pearl necklace. In addition to the passport items, Downtown Hannibal will have live music and demonstrations too. You can learn to make chocolate gravy and hand-molded chocolate eggs. In January, the Olmsted County Board of Commissioners announced it allocated a total of $3,388,968 in economic relief funds to small businesses and non-profits affected by COVID-19 as part of the State of Minnesota County Relief Funding Program. According to a press release from Olmsted County, a total of 169 small businesses met the eligibility criteria and were chosen as grant recipients, and 34 non-profit organizations met the eligibility criteria and were chosen as grant recipients. A total of $2,711,174 was allocated to the grant program for small businesses and food/beverage-serving 501(c)(8) and 501(c)(19) non-profits, administered by Rochester Area Economic Development, Inc, and $677,794 was allocated to the grant program for 501(c)(3) non-profits administered by the Rochester Area Foundation (RAF). ....
