Oscoda High School Interact raises $1,000 to fight polio

OSCODA – The Oscoda High School (OHS) Interact Club, a service club affiliated with the Oscoda Rotary Club, raised over $1,000 to help eradicate polio from the face of the earth so that it will never come back to cripple another child.  The club members did an END POLIO NOW Dollar Drive in the high school and middle school homerooms to raise the money. Their effort will be double matched by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. This will enable the vaccination of over 5,000 children. “The students wanted to do something to make the world a safer place. We do lots within our community, but we wanted to do something with global impact,” said Interact President Sophia Rayes.
