Government confirms purchase order with Saskatoon PPE company

The Saskatchewan government has released the details of its deal with Saskatoon’s Benchmark PPE.
In a media release Monday, the provincial government said it bought 18,000 face shields and 4 million disposable masks from the Saskatoon-based company. The products are to be used in the province’s schools to help limit the spread of COVID-19.
“Our government is pleased to support Saskatchewan-based personal protective equipment suppliers while protecting students, school staff and families,” Education Minister Dustin Duncan said in the release.
“We continue to work closely with the education sector to identify how we can best support their school-based needs.” ....

Saskatoon firm producing 4 million masks to help prevent COVID-19 spread in province's schools

A Saskatoon-based company has been tasked with manufacturing millions of masks and thousands of face shields to be used in the province s schools.
This week, Benchmark Personal Protective Equipment is shipping an order of four million disposable masks and 18,000 face shields, according to the Saskatchewan government.
“Benchmark PPE is extremely proud to be able to manufacture these critical PPE items in Saskatoon,” Benchmark personal protective equipment business developer Justin Stuart said in a news release from the province.
“It is of the utmost importance to keep students and staff in schools safe while in the classroom, Stuart said. ....

A Saskatoon company that makes medical grade personal protective equipment (PPE) is expanding, after demand for its products significantly increased.
Justin Stuart, who co-owns Benchmark PPE with Olga Bugrova, has secured a Saskatchewan government ministry contract to provide millions of masks for schools across the province. While Stuart can’t get into too many details, he says he’s proud and grateful to be able to do the work.
“We’re very lucky,” he says. “Our business is expanding because we’ve stuck with the production. We’ve achieved a high level of quality through hard, hard work, and we’re very fortunate that we’ve had some good partners that have come forward and given us purchase orders for our products. ....
