Alvin Dwight Gressley Jr., 66, Indiana, died Tuesday, February 16, 2021, at his residence, surrounded by his loving family.
The son of Alvin Dwight Gressley Sr. and Helen Widemire, he was born February 15, 1955, in Indiana, PA.
Alvin was a 1974 graduate of Indiana High School. During his life time he was employed as an apprentice cabinet maker, employed also by Ray Houser Surge, Star Manufacturing, self-employed as Gressley’s Electric Motor Repair, and for the past 38 years, by St. Andrews Village as Director of Environmental Services.
Alvin was a member of the Jacksonville Presbyterian Church where he served as an Elder.
During his free time, he enjoyed going to the Keystone Hunting Camp, hiking, boating, and wood working, and tinkering on his cars and tractor with his grandson. He was also an avid hunter and fisherman. ....

Toll Brothers filed plans with the city Feb. 9 for a 27-unit town house community one block east of the Publix-anchored East San Marco shopping center development.
The 1.03-acre property is bounded by Atlantic Boulevard, Arcadia Place, Alford Place and Minerva Avenue.
Toll Brothers is a luxury builder based in Philadelphia. The company could not be reached for comment.
Kimley-Horn and Associates is the civil engineer and landscape architect on the project.
A Wells Fargo bank branch sits on the block between the town houses and the East San Marco development. It is across Arcadia Place from Fletcher Park.
East San Marco LLC, controlled by Regency Centers Corp., owns the vacant eight parcels that comprise the site. It takes up the block except for a single-family home on .12 acres. ....

First work on San Marco Publix quietly starts in Jacksonville

That day looks like it’s finally here. Probably.
While there have been false starts before, something happened last month that neighbors hadn’t seen until now: Construction crews broke dirt on the supermarket site at Hendricks Avenue and Atlantic Boulevard.
This is incredibly important for the neighborhood, said Scott Wohlers, an investment firm executive who is president of the San Marco Merchants Association.
Eventually the project is expected to mean more convenience for residents and foot-traffic and customers for businesses close to the store. But for now the start of work is simply an end to waiting for a project that was first publicly discussed in late 2002. ....
