Heavy rain in Jhang July 21, 2021 JHANG: Several residential areas inundated due to heavy rain in the city. The rainwater entered into the houses of low-lying areas and exposed tall claims of the Municipal Corporation officials. Meanwhile, the residents of Sargodha Road and adjacent localities staged a demonstration against the MC officials at Ayub Chowk. The aggrieved citizens appealed to the authorities to take notice of poor administrative control and inefficiency of the MC officials. When contacted, MC Administrator/DC Fayyaz Ahmed claimed that the permanent solution to sewerage lines choking issue requires upgradation of sewerage system of the city by keeping the surface levels of different areas of the city under observation. ....

As per Geo News, the cause of death of both persons was roof collapse. In Lahore, one person was killed and ten others were injured when the roofs of their houses collapsed, while in Raiwind, a 30-year-old man was killed as his home collapsed due to heavy rain. Ten people were injured in similar incidents in the China Scheme and Mohalnawal areas. The streets have been severely inundated. Low-lying areas in Faisalabad and Mianwali lay flooded, with water flowing into houses. The railway track in Mianwali is feared damaged by the urban flooding. ....
