SANTA FE – New Mexico’s Vax 2 the Max Sweepstakes, a $10 million vaccination incentive program funded by federal stimulus dollars, has already attracted almost 400,000 New Mexicans in a little more than a week.
As of the end of the day Tuesday, June 8, 372,774 vaccinated New Mexicans had opted in to the sweepstakes.
New Mexicans who have received their COVID-19 vaccination must opt in to the sweepstakes to participate; vax2themaxnm.org is where to opt in and read more about the rules and regulations.

Albuquerque mayor says 51% of those eligible fully vaccinated against COVID-19

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M.- As more people get vaccinated against COVID-10, Mayor Tim Keller believes Albuquerque residents have a lot to look forward to.
Tuesday, he provided an update on the ongoing vaccination effort in the city.
Our unofficial count has us about 51% fully vaccinated in the Albuquerque metro area, he said.
The city is using a mobile vaccine site to provide vaccines to more people.
This week, it s set up at the John Marshall Health Center. People can show up without an appointment, and there s no cost for the vaccine.
We want to emphasize it s getting easier and easier to get it, Keller said. And now in this example, you can just drive up. That s all you need to do. ....

That’s what it comes down to after living under a public health threat that has killed more than 4,000 New Mexicans, put tens of thousands of our residents out of work and locked hundreds of thousands of our kids out of schools.
Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham’s announcement Wednesday that she plans to fully reopen the state in nine weeks is the light at the end of the tunnel we’ve all yearned for. At last we’ve got a path out of this pandemic, thanks to many New Mexicans’ responsible mask-wearing and social distancing, as well as our high vaccination rates. Kudos to all those New Mexicans who have taken one or two shots for the team – and for themselves, their friends, their co-workers, their neighbors, their fellow parishioners and their families. ....
