increase font size Share Darlene ‘Dean’ (Morin) Low 73, passed away at her home on April 14, 2021, after a short illness. She was born in Berlin, New Hampshire, on June 24, 1947. She lived most of her life on the coast of Maine in Kennebunkport. She leaves behind her mother, Marie Morin of Berlin; four brothers, Joseph Morin, Jr. and wife Noella of Brooksville, Florida; Gary Morin and wife Janet of Lutz, Florida; Phil Morin and wife Jeannette of Berlin; John Morin and wife Debra of Kennebunkport; two sisters, Marlene Christopher of Rifle, Colorado; and Jolene (Jay) Girard of Berlin; many nieces and nephews and a great number of dear friends. She was predeceased by her father, Joseph Morin, Sr. in 2003 and her brother-in-law, Richard Girard in 2014. ....
Jodi Summit TOWER The motto of The American Legion is “For God and Country.” But for the hundreds of Legion posts that dot small town Minnesota, the motto really should be “For God, Country, and Community” and that’s why the community here will feel the loss of American Legion Post 245. With only three remaining active members, the youngest of whom is 88, the Tower-based post recently surrendered its charter. The post is one of many in Minnesota, and nationwide, that has ceased operations, due mainly to aging membership. The post closed its building back in 2015 and has been mostly inactive the past ten years. ....
Michael Loyer Michael Alexander Loyer of Burlington, Vt., died suddenly on January 9, 2021, in a tragic early-morning fire that also took the life of his neighbor and friend, Henry Burawa. Michael was born on November 2, 1989, in Burlington, Vt., the son of Michael Bradley Loyer and Sandra Racine Bradshaw. He graduated from South Burlington High School with the class of 2008. Throughout his childhood, Michael was an active, precocious boy, always outside and exploring. He loved the outdoors, especially camping and fishing with his father and diving at his favorite swimming holes. He was an enthusiastic music lover, which led him to pick up the guitar. He also had a natural talent for both snowboarding and photography an art form he had recently rededicated himself to and had received a small scholarship to study. His hopes were to use photography and screen printing to showcase his longtime love of graffiti art and culture. ....
