The Community Resource Center, aka CRC, based in Encinitas was picked as this year’s California Nonprofit of the Year for District 76, which includes Camp Pendleton, Oceanside, Carlsbad, Encinitas and Vista.
CRC was one of 114 nonprofits across California recognized by state senators and assembly members for their significant contributions to the communities they serve. Each year legislators from across California chose a Nonprofit of the Year in their district. Assemblymember Tasha Boerner Horvath chose the Community Resource Center.
The center’s services include a domestic violence emergency shelter and transitional housing, hotline and prevention/education outreach, a Therapeutic Children’s Center, counseling and legal advocacy along with a food distribution center, homelessness prevention programs and rental and housing assistance. ....
