Lubbock s 4th on Broadway announces new parade route, concert updates
Organizers of the annual 4th on Broadway festival in Lubbock have announced a new route for the event s Sonic Parade that they hope will make the event safer and easier to attend.
Broadway Festivals. Inc. organizers also announced details about the two concerts planned ahead event, with the traditional La Raza on the Plaza and Country Kickoff concerts now taking place at Cook s Garage in south Lubbock County. Texas country music artist Aaron Lewis is set to perform, with other acts not yet announced. Over the years, in the beginning, the event started, it was all on Broadway and downtown Lubbock, and we have gradually moved the various elements of the festival down to Mackenzie park, said Don Caldwell, president and executive director of Broadway Festivals. This new change, we are moving the parade to the inside Mackenzie park this year.

Lubbock s annual Santa Land officially began its 13-day run Thursday evening, this year with a drive-through style tour to avoid large crowds and ensure public safety.
The free, annual, holiday tradition is scheduled to continue nightly through Dec. 23 in Mackenzie Park.
In its 64th year, the annual event will be open nightly from 6-10 p.m.
Santa Land tourists can enter the park off East Broadway at the Bayer Museum of Agriculture and proceed northwest toward Joyland Amusement Park. Cesar E. Chavez Drive will be a one-way road from Broadway toward the north.
