The Yellow Jackets and Fighting Irish are squaring off for the second-straight season and 37 th time overall. Tech has split its only two visits to Notre Dame in the past 40 seasons, with a 30-22 loss to the No. 8-ranked Irish in 2015 and a dominant 33-3 victory over ND in 2007. Notre Dame, which won the regular-season Atlantic Coast Conference championship and earned a berth in the College Football Playoff in 2020, is widely expected to be a preseason top-10 team again in ’21.

Jackets Fall Short in Game 2 at Notre Dame

The No. 12 Yellow Jackets (14-12, 11-9 ACC) had just one multi-hit player in Stephen Reid, who went 2-for-4, while Justyn-Henry Malloy and Tres Gonzalez also had doubles on the day. The Yellow Jackets (15-12, 12-9 ACC) battled in pitchers’ duel, where LHP Sam Crawford worked a terrific start (6.0 IP, 5 H, 2 R, 2 K), before LHP Josiah Siegel (1-0) pitched a clean seventh to get his first collegiate decision. RHP Dawson Brown then retired the next two batters before LHP Luke Bartnicki slammed the door with 1.1 innings of no-hit work for his fourth save of the year. En route to 12 hits on the day, Tech had four multi-hit performances, including Reid.

TUSCALOOSA, Al. – Georgia Tech track & field closed out the final day of their Week Four meet at the 2021 Crimson Tide Invitational at Sam Bailey Track and Field Stadium on Saturday. Sophomore vaulter Olivia Moore guided the Jackets in Tuscaloosa, collecting gold in the women’s pole vault, as Tech had multiple podium performances.
