A COUNTY DURHAM firm involved in the manufacture of coronavirus vaccines has claimed it could be forced out of Teesdale if denied permission to expand its current base. Technimark, a plastics firm, hoped to take advantage of growing demand and create up to 40 jobs with plans to demolish and rebuild its current warehouse and toolroom. The scheme had prompted concerns from some families in the company’s Middleton in Teesdale home over the impact on the landscape and nearby households. But these were overruled by bosses at Durham County Council, who accepted the application would safeguard roles at what is believed to be the village’s biggest single employer.
