She did not walk any opposing batters and the one run allowed was unearned. KSU countered with Jessica LeBeau (1-2) who actually pitched a pretty decent game but her defense let her down. The freshman allowed six runs but three were unearned. The Golden Flashes committed two errors and like most Bama opponents were often caught by surprise by the speed and daring of the Tide batters and base runners. They often threw to the wrong base or threw with no urgency which allowed Tide runners to take that extra base. ....

The Dothan, Alabama native recorded her first career win and first career shutout in one game. Torrence struck out three of the 18 batters that she faced and allowed no hits and no walks in five innings. Sophomore Savannah Woodard was the reason for Torrence’s five inning outing. In game two for Alabama Woodard recorded her first career walk off grand slam. At the bottom of the fifth Northern Iowa replaced their starting pitcher Kailyn Packard, with freshman Hailey Sanders. ....
