The mask mandate has been in effect since classes resumed amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
Travis Zablotney, a parent of a student in the school district, is skeptical that masks actually do prevent risk. He told the board that the risk of COVID-19 complications is rare for children. He noted that case numbers are low in the area and questioned how long the district plans to require face masks. ....

The Sources of Strength club at Jim Hill Middle School has been focusing on generosity this month by fulfilling some community needs at local elementaries with an angel tree.
Alora Robertson, one of the adult leaders of the club, said that Jim Hill’s “feeder schools” were contacted by Alyssa Palmer, the other adult leader of the club. Families in need at the schools were selected by individual school counselors.
“Children were able to choose six total gifts; three wants and three needs,” said Robertson in an email. “Throughout the last few weeks we were able to continually add families to our Angel Tree as donors were continually reaching out. With the community’s help, we were able to fill those needs with over 200 gifts.” ....
