Good morning Sister Barbara, Miss Danovich, faculty, families, and my Merion sisters. We are gathered here today to celebrate the class of 2016, the last class to ever graduate in this gym. On the precipice of such great change, I thought that nothing could be more appropriate than to look backwards. When Catherine McAuley established her House of Mercy in 1827, the streets of Dublin were stricken with illness and poverty. But I have always found it striking that there in the city, where merely feeding the poor posed enough of a challenge, Catherine felt so strongly compelled to establish a place of learning. MLK, Jr Food drive "complete success"

Juneau, Alaska (KINY) - The Martin Luther King, Junior Day of Service food drives in Juneau Monday were deemed a complete success.
That s according to Sherry Patterson of the Juneau Black Awareness Association which sponsored the food drives at the Mendenhall Mall Events Center and Super Bear and Foodland IGA downtown.
The Juneau community contributed an abundance of much needed items for Love INC and Helping Hands Food Bank, Patterson said.
According to Patterson, Love INC Executive Director guy Crockcoft said the donation was by far the largest single donation they d ever received. ....
