Team Canada took a little longer to get their first goal today, Jan. 2, but still managed to put one past Czech goalie Nick Malik before the 10 minute mark of the first period.

It’s a rematch of last year’s gold-medal game as Team Canada takes on Team Russia in the 2021 World Junior Hockey Championship semifinals.
The Canadians have run the table, collecting five straight wins, and also blanked the Russians 1-0 in an exhibition game two weeks ago. Team Russia went 3-1 SU in its preliminary round and eked out a 2-1 win versus Team Germany in the quarterfinals.

It’s final-four hockey betting action as Team USA will face a familiar foe in Team Finland on Monday in World Junior Hockey Championships. Finland has knocked the Americans out of the previous two tournaments with a pair one one-goal victories.
Team USA got off to a rough start in the preliminaries with a 5-3 loss to Russia in its first game of the competition. Since then, the Americans have ripped off four straight wins by a combined score of 27-2, which included three shutouts. World Juniors odds have Team USA as a 1.5-goal favorite (-115) with the total set at 5.5, shaded heavily to the Under.

Canada did the work to top its pool at the world junior men s hockey championship and earn an advantageous quarterfinal matchup with the Czech Republic.
However, Canada head coach Andre Tourigny said the Czechs finishing fourth in their pool doesn t make them a pushover. We need to remain humble, the coach said Friday.
Saturday s other quarterfinal matchups will see Slovakia face the U.S., Russia take on Germany, and Sweden battle Finland.
