That s why I was happy to speak recently with Kentucky s Julius Maddox, who for the past several years has been the strongest raw bench presser alive. He had quite a story to tell, as Julius turned his life around from being a drug addict and prison inmate to one of the strongest human beings on earth. It s not every day a person does something that has NEVER BEEN DONE EVER IN THE WORLD. A couple of those things happened this weekend in Miami. The Hybrid Showdown III at Hybrid Performance brought some of the biggest names in powerlifting to South Florida and the fireworks went off!
Julius Maddox set a new World Record in the Raw Bench Press at 782.5 lbs.
He is expected to go for an 800 lb bench press later this year.
Dan Bell from Daytona set a new Raw total with a 1102 squat, 600 bench, and 903 deadlift. He is the first man to ever total over 2600 lbs in a raw competition. ....
