2 drivers cited in last week's Rayland school bus crash | News, Sports, Jobs

RAYLAND Two drivers have been cited following a head-on crash with a Buckeye Local School District bus early Friday that left more than 10 students with minor injuries.
According to reports from the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the bus was traveling east on Jefferson County Road 15 when a westbound pickup truck operated by a juvenile swerved around a van parked on the roadway as it topped a hill, then struck the bus head-on.
“One driver was cited for parking on the roadway the one that had the flat tire. The other driver was also cited for hitting the bus,” Sgt. Bryan Sponaugle of the Steubenville post of the patrol said. ....

STEUBENVILLE The Jefferson County Health District is looking for county help coming up with the final $50,000 needed for its new Wellness on Wheels project.
At Thursday’s meeting of the county commissioners, Health Commissioner Andrew Henry said they’d secured an $85,000 grant from the J.C. Williams Trust in August for the mobile medical unit, and also allocated about $40,000 in COVID-19 funding.
Henry told commissioners they need to plug the funding gap by August or return the grant money.
Wellness on Wheels would take medical services including lab testing, vaccines, wellness screenings and health promotion on the road, reaching Jefferson County residents who otherwise might not be able to access them. ....

Semi roll over closed northbound Highway 285 in Morrison

MORRISON, Colorado A fatal crash caused backups on northbound Highway 285 in Morrison.
West Metro Fire Rescue  (WMFR) said a semi rolled over, causing the truck s cab to separate from the tank it was hauling. The truck cab went down a steep incline and the driver was ejected, WMFR said.
Colorado State Patrol (CSP) said it was assisting Morrison Police with the crash. The crash happened near milepost 248 which is just before Colorado Highway 8.
The northbound lanes of 285 were closed at Parmalee Gulch Road, which is the road to get to Indian Hills, according to a tweet from the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT). One lane has since reopened.  ....
